Hey Guys!
Welcome to our newly revamped blog! Morven and myself thought it was about time we upped our blogging standards and so we've given the blog a much more fresh look. We were designed a very cute header by my graphics genius aunt, thanks so much! Also now, we both very luckily have our own DSLR cameras which will really improve our photograph quality which will make it look hella nicer! No more crappy phone pics whoo hoo! We're also going to be much more committed to the blog and we plan to post around once a week. Hope you like our new theme as much as we do and don't forget to leave comments below on what you think!
To keeps things simple for our first 'revamped' post, I thought I would show you guys what I apply to my face most mornings, aka My Daily MakeUp Routine. This is perfect if you're just starting out with makeup and if you're unsure on what products to buy and you're just looking for a few hints and tips or if you're just plain nosey like myself! I'll leave links to all the products I use at the bottom of the post so make sure to go look at them after reading this. Enjoy! - Karina x
Okay so let's get real here. As much as we would enjoy it, not everyone has the money for a beautiful, pore-defying, high-end primer. *sighs* Although, there are some pretty good dupes out there and this one definitely makes the cut. I apply it after I've washed and moisturised my face in the morning as it seems to make your skin super soft and as stated on the bottle "Camera Ready." It does what primers are built to do and keeps your makeup in place all day. Top tip - If you don't want to splash out on an eyelid primer, just apply a tiny tiny dollop of this on each lid before applying your eye makeup, works a treat! Also, be careful not to add to much of this primer to your face as it can give quite a built up and oily look to your skin. Less is more!
After I've let my primer sink in, I squeeze one pump of this foundation onto the back of my hand and apply streaks of the foundation all over my face, either using a brush or just my fingers. I then take my knock off beauty blender and blend in the foundation all over my face. If you don't know what a beauty blender is, it's basically a large makeup sponge that you dampen slightly and it makes your makeup go on really nicely - it's pretty amazing. I really love this foundation as the coverage of it is really high and the shade matches my skin perfectly which is something that I find quite hard with foundations! Not too pricey either :)
It's every beauty bloggers and Youtuber's favourite concealer and there's no way possible in why it shouldn't be! The shade of this concealer is really good and it blends quite well the Rimmel foundation too. I usually apply it under my eyes and on any blemishes that I have, usually around my cheeks and forehead. I just use the same beauty blender to blend it in and it gives it a really nice finish. As you can probably tell by the photo, it's pretty loved!
If I had to pick one makeup item that I had to live with for the rest of my life, it would definitely be powder, I love it! I think it's because my skins quite oily normally and powder masks it so well:) This one is really nice giving your skin a very smooth feeling whilst also setting your foundation and concealer. I just use a large headed brush to apply this all over my skin. The only problem with this powder is that it doesn't last all day so I end up taking it to school/work with me to reapply, but I don't really mind as the finish is pretty good.
Why did I not find this before! It's definitely the best brow product I've ever used. When I put this on, I point the brush side of the pencil towards my ear depending on which brow I'm doing and do short, quick strokes on the parts that need filling and then I blend it with the brush on the other side of the pencil. It gives my brows a very neutral, natural look that it suitable for everyday. Highly recommend!
This palette is just pure heaven. I got it as a Christmas present last year and have been in love with it ever since. For everyday wear, I take a fluffy eyeshadow brush and apply W.O.S all over my lid. I then take a more pointed brush and blend a mix of Naked 2 and Faint into my outer corner. If I'm feeling adventurous/have the time, I take a tiny bit of Crave and blend it into my crease and a little in my outer corner to create a more dramatic look. An amazing dupe for this palette is the MUA 'Undress Me too' eyeshadow palette.
I've only just started curling my eyelashes before I put on mascara and have noticed such a difference! It really accentuates and elongates (think I deserve a medal for that description) your lashes when you put mascara on. Believe it or not, I got this for my 15th birthday (almost a year ago) and it's still going strong! If you're careful and don't pump the applicator too much, it'll last much longer. This mascara really lengthens and makes your lashes look very 'fluttery' and pretty. The colour is quite dark which I personally think looks really nice. Also, it is very long lasting which is always a bonus!
Depending on my mood and the occasion/event I either swoosh onto my lips Benefit Dandelion lipgloss or Topshop lipstick in Wicked.
